Edinburgh Global Mission (English)

(日本語版は、こちら http://d4cc.blogspot.com/2010/05/digital-1000-6112-2540-sword-projectit.html )

I gave the name card to some of people I met at the conference so I thought I should write an English blog too.

At this global mission conference, I heard the word "digital" surprisingly many times. Surely in the thema-specific class "Technology and Mission", but also it was emphasized often at general conferences held in evening.

I personally summarize what the speakers say with the following sentence.
"many of technologies have histories of developments for circular desires or for human ambitions. However to reach those non-believes and next generation christians who are dived in there, we need to deliver the Gospel and the Word of God accordingly."

I was blessed to serve nearly 1000 missionaries from over 140 countries arriving Narita Airport for the conference.

Due to lack of volunteers, I was at the airport from 6 am to 11 pm. The last few people at the airport had no bus arranged (well I arranged that way) so I dropped them off at their home-stay with a van. It was around 2:30 in the morning when I got home.

In midst of all this, I was given the follow Word of God and felt strong presence of the Lord.

"The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'"

Matthew 25:40

I was weeping at the airport for a while. After this, some miracles happened in my life.

I was in unemployment status for a half year. At this very day, some former company boss asked me if I wanted to work with him for his new company. But I politely passed up because I certainly knew it has nothing to do with the given mission.

The next day, I was given a time to attend a thema spefic class "Technology and mission". There, as I exchanged my name card with the speaker (man! this speaker is full of power and knowlegde in IT), I shared him what the Sword project is and he asked me to talk about the Sword project and my vision for Japanese translation to be digitally available. After I spoke the speaker leaded attendants to pray for me and for Japanese digital translations. (I found myself weeping again as the grace of the Lord was soooo strong.)

One of those attendants was a developer of http://lastmilecalling.org/ which is like SNS dedicated for missionaries. The team proposed me a position with a fixed salary.
But again, I passed up because the Lord is preparing me something else.

At the same day, one of top management people of Christian organization which I am applying right now sent me an e-mail that he wants to see me. As the result of the "interview", he said he would recommend me to be accepted.

Counting the last recommendation as an "invitation", I had three invitations just in three days. it is so unbelievable, comparing with the past half year without any thing at all.

In this half year, I thought about working in a circular company just as a programmer. I was convinced that the day I get an ideal work which I would like to do, which the will of God is and which I can support my family, is not far away.

So it was all blessed!

Praise the Lord.
